Hey you all!!
To begin, I skipped an entry for yesterday due to the fact I literally did nothing 🙂
Well, I did manage a morning cardio session on the elliptical while watching The View and then did a TCA chemical peel. If you have ever had a chemical peel done then you know I won’t be out and about too much over the next week. The procedure itself takes about 10 minutes total (prepping the skin and the actual peel itself). It burns like a Mother 🔥!!!! It has to stay on for 3 to 5 minutes😡 and then you look like you have been in the sun for entirely too long! The redness will last for about 36 hours and then the skin will get crackly and leather-ish and then begin a plethora of peeling for a good 3-5 days… and that was Thursday.
This morning I woke up with coffee and breakfast on the patio ☀️☕️🍳
(in the shade of course with sunscreen and a hat)
I had to go on campus and do some work today, so I slathered on the makeup and put on real clothes 👖
Todays look inspired by the late and great Johnny Cash 🌚 My pants are from a local boutique that I found for practically nothing, a simple tee from Michael Kors, a bomber jacket that I have had for probably 10+ years and a pair of street sneakers from Coach 👞.
I stopped in at the grocery store on the way home to scoop up a few of the essentials to get me through the weekend: Ground turkey, eggs, avocado, kale, lettuce, mixed nuts and bacon bits.
I managed to bring a few packs of my faves from the states to keep in the freezer 😁 Josephs pitas are a lifesaver when the bread cravings are real 🍞. They are not gluten free; however, they don’t cause me inflammation if I just stick to one occasionally.
Speaking of cravings…I think because of my wonky sleeping pattern from trying to get on a routined schedule (no such luck yet), I feel that I cannot get satisfied when I eat. So I practice what I preach. Just like I tell my clients, “volume eating is a lifesaver.” After both lunch and after dinner today when I felt that I was still hungry, each time I ate an entire bag of broccoli (about 4 cups each time). Is it what I really wanted, and was it what I was craving? No, absolutely not, but it did pack my belly full to the max and got me through 🌱.
This evening I kicked back a half a shot of pre-workout and I got in a workout at home that consisted of Back Squats and Lunges. It wasn’t my best performance, but hey, at least Im able to use a Barbell 🙏 Baby Steps.
For dinner I had tuna and mixed veggies followed with a late night protein bowl and an episode of Lost (now that Im back to Italy, my Netflix options are sparse😒)
