Good Morning from Fort Walton Beach, Florida!!! ☀️ Stop #3.
We are in Florida for the week with our main agenda being, getting our house ready for sell. We have had it rented out for four years, and while rental property is a great investment, it takes a lot of work and we are ready to step away from the hassle.
We began the week with creating a schedule that will allow us time to work on our house as well as, allowing for free time to actually enjoy our vacation with friends.
Because of traveling, we haven’t been able to hit the gym in four days, so that was a first and foremost every morning – a trip on base to our old gym to begin each day with a solid lifting session.
After, we would head back to the condo for a post-workout lunch. We were aware that each evening would be wining and dining with friends, so we made certain that we had a stove and microwave to somewhat stay on track during the days.
During the daytime, we spent most of our time revamping the rental.
After a few hours of cleaning each day we would get ready and head downtown to our favorite local spots. Back in my bartending days, I worked at a sandbar in the center of Fort Walton Beach called KC’s. I was there for 4 years, made lifelong friends and it’s where I met Wesley. ❤️ The bar has since expanded to four other establishments and mingling downtown in the evenings allowed us to see almost all of our old squad. We were able to attend the annual Christmas party which is pure insanity and its finest!
I spent a good hour each afternoon in the condos business lounge Skyping with my school advisor and checking in with clients (work is year round, which keeps me on track as well!)
We managed to get in food from some of our favorite spots throughout the week: Panera Bread (more than once), Tijuana Flats, Fokkers Grille and of course Whataburger 💜.
Our last day in town I was able to meet up with my best friend in the world, Chief. He and I worked the bar together and we both left the same summer. We haven’t been able to both be in Florida at the same time since (almost 5 years!!), but just before we hit the road to head out, his plane landed. It was the highlight just before heading out 💜.
Until next time Florida ☀️ Now on to stop #4, Sweet Home Alabama❤️❤️❤️
